The Electron Microscopy Center (EMC) has created curated e-mail lists to make communication with our different users easier. We are using the campus list server framework (called Sympa) to host these groups, and lots of information about how such lists work can be found at the Sympa webpage:
View or host IU Mailing Lists with Sympa
The above link leads both to details about how the e-mail list server works and can also be used to look at the mailing lists that the EMC has created.
There are mailing lists for each of the microscopes: users of the JEOL JEM 1010 (EMC-1010-USERS-L), users of the JEOL JEM 1400plus (EMC-1400plus-USERS-L), users of the JEOL JEM 3200FS (EMC-3200-USERS-L), users of the Thermo-Fisher Teneo and VolumeScope (EMC-TENEO-USERS-L) and users of the Thermo-Fisher Talos Arctica (EMC-ARCTICA-USERS-L). There is a group for all the users of the facility (EMC-ALL-USERS-L) and one specifically for only the faculty (EMC-FACULTY-L).
Anyone can send e-mail which will be distributed to everyone on the lists to these addresses. Remember to add the @indiana.edu when using them, and that a list moderator must approve any messages sent to the entire list. Here is another page with additional information about all the mailing lists.
Some of the most basic things you need to know about the EMC mailing lists are as follows:
